Rebel Machines is owned
and managed by
Nev Stokley and Carol Aston.
Nev Stokley lives in South Yorkshire, England, and has been involved with various
"computer help" websites for the last 10 years. He provides much needed help and
advice to computer users both online and off, and is a great believer in explaining
the solutions to computer problems as simply as possible, thereby enabling the user
to better understand what is wrong and why and also how to put it right.
Carol Aston lives in Wiltshire, England, and first "met" Nev online in one of the computer help sites he was involved in. She came across the site, XP Help Group (at the time, one of the most popular of the Microsoft Groups), which was owned by Gaz Williams, when searching for advice for a problem with her own PC. Nev and Gaz soon helped Carol sort out the problem and they became firm friends and she soon began helping other members herself.
XP Help Group won many awards for the advice and friendly manner in which it was offered. The forum ran for a number of years but, sadly, it had to close when MS decided to terminate the Microsoft Groups venture. Fortunately for us, Gaz had the foresight to replace that group with his own forum and that became XPHelpGroup.com. Many of the original members migrated to the new site and carried on with the good work until this day. Rebel Machines was created as a supplemental site to XPHG and the help offered is aimed at the less experienced Windows PC user.
Rebel Machines hopes to offer the novice Windows user the chance to become better acquainted with the features, accessibility and functions of their Operating System (OS). This is a site that tries to help those who may be new to home computing or anyone who simply needs to refresh their memories on the many aspects of working with Windows.
